Sharing Stories of Giving, Passion at 2017 Annual Impact Luncheon

The San Antonio Area Foundation hosted its Annual Impact Luncheon, March 7, at the Witte Museum’s Mays Family Center. More than 185 donors, board members, volunteers and community members attended the event themed, Sharing Stories of Giving and Passion.

Area Foundation CEO, Dennis E. Noll kicked off the celebration with the introduction of Pastor Keely Petty, who gave a moving invocation. Noll followed with several highlights from the Area Foundation’s phenomenal year, including the addition of our new President and COO, Rebecca D. Brune, the launch of a new donor database, and the transition to a new investment firm.

Fundholder and Visionary Circle member, Priscilla Hill-Ardoin shared her story of giving and passion for partnering with the Area Foundation to establish The Aaron Ardoin Foundation for Sickle Cell Research and Education. “[Partnering with the Area Foundation] frees me up to be mission driven, focusing on how the foundation can best raise the funds necessary to achieve our mission of increasing awareness, promoting prevention, enhancing treatment, and advancing the cure of sickle cell disease,” said Hill-Ardoin.

The day ended with a moving presentation by Board Chair John Hayes sharing the Area Foundation’s 2016 community impact. These accomplishments are an “example of the power of collaboration and highlight the unique capacity that a community foundation has to connect donors and causes to truly impact our community.”

The Area Foundation staff works year-round to provide a simple, powerful, and highly personal approach to giving, to ensure donor gifts make a positive impact on the community we share for generations to come. Although 2016 was amazing, we can’t wait to share the new accomplishments already under way in 2017. We look forward to telling you all about it at our next annual luncheon. Details coming soon.
