The Wells Center
This community space has sparked innovation, inspired collaboration and infused energy into our philanthropic community.
The San Antonio Area Foundation made a historic move in December 2012 to our new home in the Lab Building at Pearl. The Wells Center features more than 9,000 square feet of community meeting and training space. Our home is named for Robert and Carolyn Beckmann Wells – a couple dedicated to making a difference in their communities.
A love for San Antonio inspires generosity.
Carolyn Beckmann Wells grew up in San Antonio, and her love for her hometown motivated her to leave a generous bequest to the San Antonio Area Foundation. The endowment created by this gift allowed the Area Foundation to increase our community impact by offering space for nonprofit convening and training.
The Wells Center cultivates an environment of collaboration, fosters best practices and promotes leveraging of resources among nonprofits. Our vision is to provide an intentional space for collaboration and the collision of great ideas among nonprofit staff, volunteers and donors who make San Antonio a better place to live, work and play.
Our doors are open to the community.
Nonprofit and community organizations may use our space at no- to low-cost. We have designed the Wells Center to welcome and support charitable and educational activities.
