Problem Identification: Root Cause Analysis

San Antonio Area Foundation, 303 Pearl Parkway, Suite 114, 78215

Tuesday, June 04, 2019

9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Have you ever thought a problem was solved, and then it keeps popping back into the work? You may have been solving the symptoms of the problem instead of the root causes. This introductory workshop will give you the tools needed to identify and address root causes so that you can solve a problem the first time around, rather than addressing only part of it and having the problem reoccur.

Participants will receive tools to identify root causes and learn how to  facilitate the tools. They will be introduced to action plans, communication management, and change management to address the root causes.

After completing this class, participants will be able to:

  • Facilitate a brainwriting and brainstorming cause and effect diagram – a tool that helps you consider all of the possible causes of a problem
  • Perform a thematic analysis – This is a process of finding common themes in the different words used by stakeholders and customers to describe issues. Those themes are then grouped for a better solution.
  • Build a high level project plan, communication plan, and change management plan to address the problem themes.

Who should attend this class?
All levels of workers who must address problems with long-term solutions.

This workshop is included in our Nonprofit Management Certification series and fulfills three hours in the Leadership competency area.

Cost:  $60.00
