Join us at a fast paced course geared towards creating your organizations first fundraising program or tweaking a relatively new program.



Plan your work and work your plan – that is what it takes when it comes to creating a strong development program.  Developing highly effective fundraising strategies and engaging everyone in your organizataion’s philanthropic efforts are just two of the components of a strong fundraising program that we will cover in this course.

What will participants learn


After completing this class, participants will be able to:


  • Identify key components of creating a fund development plan
  • Create a tracking tool specific to your fund development plan.
  • Determine whether your organization has a culture of philanthropy
  • Integrate at least two new strategies into your development planning


Who should attend this class?

Development professionals new to the development field, annual giving officers or fundraising staff seeking to broaden their donor base and engage everyone into their organization’s fundraising efforts.

This workshop is included in our Nonprofit Management Certification series and fulfills three hours in the Fundraising competency area.

No credits will be given for cancellations received less than 48 hours before a workshop.

Meet our Presenter:


Carrie Gray, Co-Founder, and Principal of Burnam | Gray brings 27 years of progressive experience in the areas of resource development, strategy, budgeting, organizational development, community partnerships, communications, and creating highly effective teams. Carrie has led teams ranging from two people to a 28-person division focused on resource development, donor services, marketing, communications, advocacy, and volunteer services.

Carrie completed a $25 million multi-faceted campaign for an organization with an annual operating budget of $35 million and has created communications plans that are inclusive of the varying roles needed to maintain consistent messaging. Carrie’s most recent position before co-founding Burnam | Gray three years ago, was at the San Antonio Area Foundation as Vice President of Development and Donor Services where she was responsible for leading a team of 10 professionals focused on the engagement of donors, fund development, and communications.

She has led and managed organizational change in each of her professional positions ranging from the creation and implementation of a new fundraising program to the retirement of an iconic President/CEO, to program acquisition and the restructuring of an entire division at the YWCA Seattle | King | Snohomish in Seattle, Washington.  She has her B.S. in Education from Indiana University, Bloomington, IN.
