Board Principles Series
The Area Foundation offers training based on the “Principles for Board Governance and Ethical Practice”. Developed by The Panel on the Nonprofit Sector, these 33 principles provide board guidance in four key areas -- legal compliance, effective governance, financial oversight and responsible fundraising. Each quarter, we host a training class based on one of the four key areas.
A biannual, in-depth conference with a national expert, Board Day provides nonprofit and foundation board members with the tools to lead their organizations and enhance board governance.

Whether you are new to nonprofit board service, or need a refresher course, this one-day workshop will provide you with the tools to help strengthen your board and ensure your organization’s success.
