Effective Grant Writing for Social Impact – Grant Writing Certificate Program

In an era of declining resources and increasing community needs, the ability to successfully seek and acquire supplemental funding is essential for any organization. Unlike fundraising, grant writing is an art form that relies on storytelling to secure funding and resources from government agencies, foundations, corporations, or individuals. In this course you will learn how to help your organization develop and manage grants effectively through the grants’ lifecycle. Participants will earn a certificate upon completion of the program.

Objectives:

• Develop an understanding of where and how to seek grant funding.
• Become familiar with local resources.
• Understand the grant development and management process.
• Create effective grant reports that demonstrate your organization’s attention to monitoring, evaluation, and learning in the grant process.
• Identify strategies and methodologies to construct, operate, and report on grant budgets consistently, accurately, and transparently even in sophisticated donor templates.

Key Information:

1. This program will be held in two parts over 1 ½ days.
2. Day 1 will walk participants through the fundamentals of writing grants and funder expectations.
3. On Day 2, participants will learn how to manage grants and funder relationships after a grant is received. Day 2 will also include a panel discussion.
4. Participants receive an e-certificate 5-7 business days after completing the program.
