Developing a non-profit program requires skill, expertise, and confidence in a wide range of competencies. Good program managers can effectively supervise staff, develop strong budgets, engage community members, evaluate their success, and so much more. Does this seem daunting, confusing, exhausting – or maybe even exciting? Then this is the class for you! This highly interactive course will provide opportunities to learn and practice new skills in program development. Participants will also receive a curated list of resources they can use for career-long success in program development.

Objectives:

  • Participants will understand five lenses for considering program development strategies: money, strategy, staff, community engagement, and evaluation
  • Participants will understand specific strategies for applying best practices in program development to the programs they contribute to at their organization
  • Participants will apply strategies for program development to challenging situations

Who should attend: Nonprofit Management Program participants, executives, and management staff with program development responsibilities, and entry-level staff interested in progressing their careers to include these responsibilities.
