Empowering youth through education and community support.
On April 19, 2007 Andre Terrell Booker died in an automobile/motorcycle accident. Although it was a tragic loss, we have decided to turn it into a positive. Andre stated many times that he wanted to give back to his community. In September of 2007, family and friends of Andre formed The Andre Booker Foundation in his memory. The mission of The Andre Booker Foundation is to invest in the students through scholarships for education and to provide community services.
The Andre Booker Foundation’s goal is to give back to the students in memory of our beloved friend, brother, and son Andre Terrell Booker. Andre had a commitment to young people, to promote pro-social friendships, strong interpersonal skills, and assert a sense of hope in the future. His dream was to develop strong character traits and return to his hometown to help others do the same. Our scholarships are awarded to students involved in sports and other extracurricular activities and exhibit high moral values. By supporting the youth in our communities, we can continue the work Andre was interested in.
The Andre Booker Foundation established 2 endowments at Texas State University and at The San Antonio Area Foundation. Your support of The Andre Booker Foundation will benefit the youth of our community and help them achieve their goals and dreams.
