On July 4, 2025, devastating floods swept through the Texas Hill Country, marking the deadliest natural disaster in modern Texas history. Communities along the Guadalupe River were hit hard and recovery will take time, resources, and unity.
The San Antonio Area Foundation stands in solidarity with our neighbors and partners on the frontlines of the response to this crisis. We invite you to join us in supporting the Kerr County Flood Relied Fund.
From the earliest hours of this tragedy, the Area Foundation has acted swiftly. We immediately reached out to our colleagues at the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country (CFTHC) on the morning of July 4.
We helped promote the Kerr County Flood Relief Fund locally and nationally to ensure broad visibility and support. We made a $50,000 gift to the fund to provide immediate help. We deployed a multi-disciplinary team to assist CFTHC’s staff of four, offering capacity in gift processing, finance, operations, governance, grants management and more.
“We are also grateful to the San Antonio Area Foundation, our peer community foundation in San Antonio … They have provided pro bono staff support in all functions of community foundation work to take on the volume of donations and work for today and the road ahead.”
– Austin Dickson, CEO, Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country
