Nurturing Tomorrow’s PR Talent with Scholarships
In 2006, the PRSA San Antonio chapter lost Marilyn Potts, APR, to an untimely accident. Marilyn served as president of PRSA. Since her arrival in San Antonio in 1997 from Wichita, Kansas, she worked tirelessly with young professionals, serving as the liaison to the PRSSA chapter at UTSA and mentoring seasoned professionals in their pursuit of the Accreditation in Public Relations credential.
The Marilyn Potts Endowment Fund was created in 2007 by the PRSA San Antonio Board of Directors to support communications students by providing scholarships and offering professional development opportunities tailored to meet the needs of young practitioners. As such, the fund will help to mentor the next generation of leaders in the San Antonio public relations community, an honor befitting Marilyn, who cared so deeply about this goal.
The fund is housed at the San Antonio Area Foundation, a 501(c)3 corporation and all contributions are tax-deductible.
