Annual Membership Dues

$100 – Individual (must be a nonprofit employee, volunteer or board member).
$249 or $374 – Operating budget less than $1M (additional $125 is for BoardEffect).
$499 – Operating budget $1-$4,999,999, includes BoardEffect.
$549 – Operating budget $5M & above (BoardEffect not available).

Frequently Asked Questions

Are dues only payable on an annual basis (vs. monthly or quarterly)?

Yes, dues are payable upfront on an annual basis. You will be entitled to 12 months of member benefits starting in the month you pay your annual dues. We will send reminders and you may renew as desired.

What are the topics of the Member Events and when will they be offered?

Events are focused on various topics of interest to our members. Our members are notified in advance of the next event’s topic and date.

Is there a limit to the number of staff members from my organization who can attend the learning events?

No, we will not limit the number of participants from any agency attending our events.

One of the membership benefits is facility space reservations up to one year in advance of my nonprofit’s meeting. What if I need to use Area Foundation space more than one day in a particular month?

Reservations are based on a first come, first serve basis. Please reach out to our Community Rooms team at CommunityRooms@saafdn.org for availability.

Why do organizations with over $5 million in annual budget have to obtain their own BoardEffect portal?

The Area Foundation was able to make arrangements with the vendor to have organizations under a $5 million budget share our portal because those organizations are typically not large enough to be potential customers of BoardEffect whereas larger organizations are potential clients for BoardEffect. We consider this in our membership pricing structure for agencies with budgets over $5 million.
