SpiritTouchLogo Employees in nursing homes, hospitals, and other healthcare organizations make commitments to the people in their care to give them the attention they need and deserve, all day, every day.

When an event like Hurricane Harvey hits, healthcare workers are on the frontlines. They ensure the safety and well-being of the people in their care who are elderly, have disabilities, or who are sick, during and following the devastation. Meanwhile, their homes and their means of transportation are often wrecked.

For hourly healthcare workers, a financial emergency can result in unexpected hardship. The Spirittouch Caregivers Fund was established to help healthcare workers, like Mary, in time of need.

“Our mission is to improve the quality of life for the caregivers who care for the elderly, the sick, and the disabled,” said Carl Fellbaum, founder of Spirittouch Caregivers Fund. “Through the fund, caregivers have hope in getting back on their feet after a setback over which they have no control.”

“After Harvey, we had four feet of water in our home. We lost all our furniture and family photos, our daughter’s college books and supplies, our clothes, and our car, and our house was severely damaged. When I received assistance from the Spirittouch Caregivers Fund, I cried. I am so grateful and thankful to Spirittouch for helping me and my family. We felt truly blessed.”
