The San Antonio Area Foundation is a constellation of charitable funds created by members of our diverse community.
Our organization is entrusted with carrying on the legacy of thousands of supporters who have passed away but are still present in our community through the philanthropic funds they created through their wills or estates to help improve the quality of life for everyone in our beloved region.
On Día de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead, the traditional Mexican tradition that is very much part of our culture in San Antonio, we celebrate our altruistic donors by sharing their photos and memorabilia on our Area Foundation ofrenda.
Also featured on our altar are individuals named and honored through memorial funds. We gratefully remember them, and their bright lights shine through the lives they reach through generosity. Their legacy will live on forever. We’re so grateful to their families for allowing us to share and cherish their lives.
In a world that can feel increasingly fragmented and troubled, it is a tremendous honor for us to channel outpourings of generosity into community impact.
The stories of the people on our altar are incredibly inspiring – they are each a part of our organization’s DNA. It reminds us that contributions of all sizes can generate incredible impact when they are maximized through careful financial management and strategic grantmaking.
We invite our community to learn more about the legacies of those honored on our altar and to consider building their own legacy.
Anyone can create an impact through an endowed or planned gift that takes effect after your lifetime – an any easy process we can walk you through at your convenience.
If the thought of giving extends beyond your lifetime, we would be honored to serve as your philanthropic partner.
