The San Antonio Area Foundation welcomes two dedicated community members to its 2023 Board of Directors roster.

An executive at H-E-B, Jorge Elizondo brings more than three decades of experience in the education and business fields.

He rose through the ranks to his current position as Vice President for Corporate Communications, Customer Insights and Contact Centers. He holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Yale University and a master’s degree – also in sociology – from Stanford University.

He’s excited to become part of the Area Foundation, which strives to be the most trusted and impactful philanthropic partner in our region working to close opportunity gaps for our neighbors who need the most help.

“I think the goal … with our board members is to really grow our impact,” Elizondo said. “The more we grow, the more we can help other San Antonio agencies, nonprofits and thought leaders in our evolution to become the greatest city to live in.”

Joining him as a new board member, Dr. Morris A. Stribling also brings more than three decades of professional experience. A native of Buffalo, New York, Dr. Stribling has a private podiatry practice and also serves as President of Foot Care of Central San Antonio.

An advocate for San Antonio’s African American Community, Dr. Stribling has served as board chairman of the Alamo City Chamber of Commerce, chairman of the Martin Luther King Day celebration and chairman of the Black Business Expo of San Antonio.

Dr. Stribling holds a bachelor’s in biology from Canisius College and a medical degree from Temple University.

He appreciates the Area Foundation’s new direction toward making our community equitable for all.

“I think that with the assets that the Area Foundation has and with a board of directors who have different life experiences, there are a lot of things we can do to enhance the city and help people who cannot help themselves,” Dr. Stribling said.
