The San Antonio Area Foundation announced the appointment of six distinguished community leaders to its 2025 Board of Directors. Laura Cabanilla, Joseph McLauchlan, Laura Liang, Tyler Peace, Debbie Serot and Stacey Isenberg are the new members. 

“We welcome these exceptional leaders to our board,” Board Chair Sarah Harte said. “Each of them brings unique insights, deep expertise, and a passion for service that will be instrumental in serving our mission. With backgrounds such as accounting, marketing, corporate responsibility and estate planning, our new board members bring experience and knowledge that will contribute to our role as the region’s most trusted and impactful philanthropic partner.”

Meet the new board members:

  • Laura Cabanilla, Director of Corporate Responsibility, USAA. Cabanilla’s community involvement includes serving as current board chair of VIA Metropolitan Transit, NCAA Men’s Final Four Executive Advisory Committee member and former co-chair of Leadership San Antonio.
  • Joseph McLauchlan, Managing Partner, KPMG. McLauchlan has nearly three decades of tax advising experience and serves as treasurer on the Witte Museum’s Board of Trustees, as well as on the board of Junior Achievement of South Texas.
  • Laura Liang, Senior Vice President of Operations and Accounting, Enterprise Products Partners. Liang serves as Chief Grants Officer of the Dan L. Duncan Foundation and served on the boards of the Private Investor Coalition, Girl Scouts of San Jacinto and Heroes for Children.
  • Tyler Peace, Estate Planning Attorney, Elder Bray & Bankler. Peace is Texas board certified in estate planning and probate law. He’s a past president of the San Antonio Estate Planners Council and he served on the board of San Antonio Sports.
  • Debbie Serot, Chief Marketing and Revenue Officer, SWBC. Serot has more than 30 years of marketing and communications experience. She’s part of the United Way of San Antonio & Bexar County’s Women United cohort and served as former board chair of Girls, Inc. of San Antonio.
  • Stacey Isenberg, Chief of Internal Audit, San Antonio Water System. Isenberg has held various leadership posts in her 32-year career at SAWS. She’s a CPA and serves on the board of the San Antonio Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors and as treasurer of the San Antonio Women’s Chamber of Commerce Foundation.
